The Studio is a professional art conservation company that specialises in the care and restoration of paintings in the UK and Europe. Established in 1976, the Studio is owned and operated by Francis Downing, a skilled Forensic Conservator and PACR Accredited Conservator and Restorer of paintings, who trained in Italy.
Our client base is diverse. We examine and advise on the conservation and restoration of paintings for everyone from museums, galleries, stately homes and churches to auction houses, local authorities, insurers and private clients.
